The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) announced on July 25, 2025 the release of the new IntelliCAD 13.0, a new version of the software that brings significant performance improvements and a number of new features that are sure to be of interest to both professionals and amateurs in the field of design. This latest release is poised to revolutionize the way architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals work with CAD software.

Key features and enhancements of IntelliCAD 13

New Options dialog box:

The new IntelliCAD 13.0 introduces a redesigned Options dialog that is now highly compatible with other CAD applications. This feature is designed to simplify work and improve the user experience for those familiar with other CAD software, making the transition to IntelliCAD more seamless.

Calculators and lookup tables:

The new version includes expression evaluation calculators and unit conversion tools, as well as advanced lookup tables. These tools are essential for precise and efficient design work.

Advanced parametric blocks and digital signatures:

Intellicad 13 users can now perform more actions when working with dynamic blocks, including resetting advanced parametric blocks. The new IntelliCAD also allows you to add digital signatures to .dwfx files, ensuring the integrity and security of your projects.

Data extraction and reporting:

When creating reports, users can extract data from external references, advanced parametric blocks equivalent to dynamic blocks in AutoCAD, attributes, and AEC entities. In addition, data can be extracted from a number of CAD file formats including: .dgn, .ifc, .rvt and .rfa, . The supported data can be filtered to meet certain conditions.

Rebuilt LISP:

LISP in IntelliCAD 13 has been completely rebuilt to improve performance and increase compatibility with other CAD applications. This enhancement significantly reduces the development and porting time of LISP when working with multiple CAD platforms.

New commands and tools:

IntelliCAD 13.0 introduces several new commands and tools, including Flatshot, Solid Profile, Make Shape, Compile to SHX, and Make Linetype. These features extend the capabilities of the software and provide users with more flexibility in their design work.

Surface modeling:

For versions of 3D CAD programs with IntelliCAD 13 that support the ACIS® Spatial® Technology modeler, new commands such as Network, Offset, Fillet, Extend, and Trim are available for working with surfaces.

BIM file support:

IntelliCAD 13.0 offers improved support for BIM files, including new implemented commands such as IFC Validate, RVT to IFC, and Corner Window. Users can now dimension AEC objects, manage .ifc underlay layers, define styles for new elements such as roof slabs, dimensions, structural elements, and more, and attach handrails to stair segments.

DGN File Support:

For versions of IntelliCAD that support, edit, and create native .dgn files, new DGN commands have been implemented to include BMP Out, Undelete, and Copy Nested Entities. Users can also use parallel object snapping, highlight objects, and use the Explorer command with views, external references, blocks, and layer filters.

Compliance and development IntelliCAD IcARX:

IntelliCAD IcARX implemented in this version of the engine is still a pre-release version for Consortium members.
