What is an ESD license?
ESD License (Electronic Software Distribution) is a full-fledged electronic form of software license delivered in the official distribution channel. These licenses are delivered by means of electronic communication, most often by e-mail. An ESD license comes in the form of an activation code or serial number. A serial number or activation code is generated uniquely for each seat purchased. It also confirms the originality and legality of the software you own. The legality of ESD licenses can be confirmed on the software manufacturer's website or at an exclusive distributor. Sometimes an additional document confirming originality is a certificate of authenticity issued by the manufacturer or distributor in the form of a PDF document.
Why is it worth opting for an ESD license?
In addition to ESD licenses, other forms of product distribution and licensing are the OEM version license and the BOX edition license. An OEM license is a license assigned to a single device, while a BOX license allows the software manufacturer to transfer the software between computers. The operation of ESD licenses is similar to that of BOX licenses. We can transfer our license between devices, the only difference is the form of distribution in electronic form. The differences between OEM and ESD licenses are the same as the differences between OEM and BOX. ESD-licensed software can be installed on different computers, while in the OEM version only on the one to which the activation key was initially assigned. ESD Electronic License allows the same range of mobility as the BOX license.

ActCAD offers its products in three types of ESD licenses. These are the following license versions: ESD Perpetual License, ESD Network License, and LIVE Perpetual License, and Annual License in the ESD version.
To transfer licenses between computers, use the LicenseTransfer command.
An internet connection is required to activate and deactivate ActCAD products.
After deactivation, the purchased license key can be used to reactivate the product on another computer. You can transfer your licenses between computers as many times as you want. In the event of a computer failure, it is possible to recover the license by contacting the manufacturer's support department.
