IntelliCAD 12.1 introduces advanced blocks
IntelliCAD 12.1 Provides Advanced Parametric Blocks and Enhanced Features
The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) has officially introduced the new version of the IntelliCAD 12.1 engine, a significant release with a large number of performance improvements and a set of new features. At the heart of this release is the introduction of Advanced Parametric Blocks, a feature similar to Dynamic Blocks in Autodesk's® AutoCAD®.
One of the standout features of IntelliCAD version 12.1 is the ability to create and edit advanced blocks using parameters, actions, and visibility states. This new functionality provides users with a dynamic and flexible approach to block manipulation, significantly increasing design efficiency. The Edit Attributes (Single) command, along with the improved BlockAttribute Editor, further improves the block editing process.
An interesting addition to the program is the ability to drag and drop .dwg files, allowing users to seamlessly integrate them as blocks into tool palettes. In addition, IntelliCAD 12.1 makes it easier to resize model space views, toggle the display of the printout area boundary in paper space, and load and save printout stamp settings (.pss) files.
For users working with BIM files, IntelliCAD 12.1 supports specifying IFC4 or IFC4x3 schema capabilities when exporting to .ifc files. You can also set display properties for AEC styles, which increases the compatibility and versatility of the software.
For versions that support editing and creating .dgn files in their own format, IntelliCAD 12.1 offers the ability to include cell library (.target) files. The Explorer command helps you efficiently manage layouts and text styles, while snapping to a geometric center ensures precise design accuracy.
Power users and developers will appreciate the fact that IntelliCAD 12.1 uses ODA's latest SDK version 2023.12 SP1. Furthermore, the latest pre-release version of IntelliCAD IcAPI is fully compatible with AutoCAD® Object ARX, allowing ITC Consortium members to build applications using a uniform source code that runs on both platforms.
ITC President David Lorenzo highlighted the completion of a long period of work and development of advanced parametric blocks, saying: "We have decided not to wait until 2024 for a more comprehensive release, and instead have focused on delivering this vital feature to ITC members as soon as possible with a few additional innovations."
The latest IntelliCAD 12.1 is compatible with Microsoft® operating systems in Windows® 11, Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7 64-bit versions. In addition, versions of IntelliCAD Mobile Viewer are available for Windows desktop, Google® Android™, Apple® macOS®, and iOS devices.
