DWF stands for Design Web Format. DWF is an open CAD file format developed by Autodesk to Efficient distribution and transfer of large design data sets, making it easy for designers and engineers to share CAD drawings data, graphics in the form of underlays, text, tables and 3D models in the form of compressed files to be viewed or printed. Files DWF are vector format files in which drawing graphics are created using formulas and mathematical formulas, not pixels. Therefore, they contain a clear, well-scalable image, rich in details regardless of scale.

DWF files are highly compressed, so they take up less space and are easier to than design files of other formats. Designers using DWF can control content. For example, they can restrict the use of certain design data, such as styles print only to what they want the recipients to see.

Files in the dwf format can contain sets of multi-sheet drawings, compiled from multiple CAD drawings in a single file. This allows you to open the common content of the project with with just one click.

DWF files do not replace native CAD formats, such as DXF or DWG drawings. The main purpose of the Design Web Format is to enable designers, engineers, project contractors and their collaborators to communicate design information and content design document to anyone who has to review, review and print it, - in addition without the need for the design software to be known by the these team members.

How to Open DWF Files in ActCAD

1. Run any ActCAD application
2. From the menu, select File > Open
3. Browse to the DWF file you want to open
   
4. Select a .dwf file or files with a .dwf extension
5. You can view, edit and save the results of your work in a dwf file
6. You can choose any other CAD file format supported by ActCAD, e.g. DWG, DGN, DWT, DWS, DXF, STEP, STL, IGES, DSF to export CAD data and save your work!!
